# ZenSchedule Privacy Policy

  **Last updated:** February 22, 2026

ZenSchedule (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that helps users block distracting websites using permanent and scheduled rules.

  ## Summary
  - We do **not** collect personal data on our servers.
  - We do **not** sell or share user data with third parties.
  - All settings are stored locally in your browser.

  ## What data the extension uses
ZenSchedule stores the following data in `chrome.storage.local` on your device:
  - Master blocking toggle state
  - Permanent blocked domains
  - Scheduled groups, group names, and schedule times
  - Temporary blocked-page context (for displaying block reason on the local blocked page)

This data stays in your browser profile and is used only to make the extension function.

  ## Permissions and why they are used
  - `storage`: save user settings locally
  - `alarms`: trigger schedule checks at configured times
  - `declarativeNetRequest`: block/redirect requests for configured domains
  - `declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess` + host access (`<all_urls>`): apply blocking rules to domains chosen by the user

  ## Data sharing
ZenSchedule does not transmit user data to external servers and does not share data with third parties.

  ## Remote code
ZenSchedule does not execute remote code. Extension logic and assets are packaged with the extension.

  ## Security
Because data is stored locally in browser storage, users control it by editing/removing extension settings or uninstalling the extension.

  ## Changes to this policy
